Project Overview & Strategic Importance As part of the government's strategic "Big Push Program," Rolider Ltd. is executing the comprehensive upgrading of the Adaklu Tsrefe – Waya – Kayime corridor. Located in the Adaklu highlands, this project involves the transformation of 32.3 kilometers of main road, supplemented by an additional 2-kilometer concrete road segment (Abuadi – Kodiabe) designed specifically to provide extra durability and benefits to the highland communities. By widening and elevating the existing tracks, the project guarantees a reliable, all-weather socio-economic link for the region.

Technical Scope & Engineering Specifications To meet the rigorous standards of the Ministry of Roads and Highways, the existing varied-width tracks are being raised and widened to a standard 10.3 meters. Managing the challenging hydrology of the highlands is a priority; therefore, the scope includes the execution of 16 kilometers of concrete U-drains, alongside the construction of 66 pipe culverts and 2 box culverts.

The pavement structure is expertly engineered to increase quality and resilience, featuring:

• Sub-Base: 15 cm of natural sub-base material.
• Base Layer: 20 cm of stabilized gravel base (comprising 50% natural gravel and 50% crushed rock) to provide a rigid foundational structure.
• Surface Dressing: A meticulously applied 3-layer surface dressing system:
  • Primer Seal: Binder class AC.10 (80-100 pen) incorporated with cutter oil (ATK Kerosine) and 10mm chippings.
  • First Seal: Binder class AC.10 (80-100 pen) with 14mm chippings.
  • Second Seal: Final spray of binder class AC.10 (80-100 pen) with 10mm chippings.
• Highland Concrete Section: The 2km Abuadi – Kodiabe section is constructed using high-strength C37 class concrete at a 20cm thickness.

Safety & Delivery Slated for full operational handover by January 2028, the entire route will be equipped with premium road safety materials, including comprehensive traffic signs and road markings. Rolider guarantees that this infrastructure is constructed to the highest standards of quality and service, delivering a transformative asset to the Adaklu District.
